WHAT IS AN ESCAPE ROOM?

An escape room is an immersive, interactive adventure where you and your team are “locked” in a themed room. The goal is to work together to uncover hidden clues, crack codes, and solve a series of puzzles to escape the room within a set time limit.

HOW LONG DOES THE GAME LAST??

Gameplay in the room lasts up to 60 minutes, but additional time is required for instructions/briefing at the beginning and debriefing at the end. Expect to spend about 75-90 minutes total at the location. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled booking, as gameplay begins promptly at your scheduled time.

WILL I REALLY BE LOCKED IN? CAN I LEAVE THE ROOM IF I NEED TO?

No, you will not actually be locked in, but the doors may be closed. Yes, you can leave the escape room whenever needed, but the clock will continue to run.

I’VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE. CAN I GET HELP?

Yes! Our game masters will provide a full briefing before the game begins to guide you through the process. You may also request hints/assistance in the room during gameplay.

HOW DIFFICULT ARE ESCAPE ROOMS?

Escape rooms can vary in difficulty depending on design and complexity. Please refer to our room descriptions and difficulty ratings for further information. Call us at 412-368-2250 for further information or recommendations.

WILL I BE PLAYING WITH OTHERS THAT I DON’T KNOW?

No! All of our experiences are private, so you will never be paired with someone that you don’t know. Only you and your team will be in the room together.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS/VIDEOS DURING GAMEPLAY?

No. In order to keep the experience authentic, the taking of photographs/videos is strictly prohibited during gameplay inside of the rooms. You will have the opportunity to take a group photo after the game is complete.

DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE?

Yes. Advance reservations are required to secure your spot. You can book online at pittsburgh.escapegameover.us. We cannot guarantee a spot unless you’ve booked ahead of time.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY?

Each room has a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 8 players. Multiple rooms can be booked to accommodate larger parties. Please contact us in advance to discuss options for large groups.

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?

Escape rooms can be a fun and engaging experience for all ages. However, some rooms are more suitable for children than others. Younger players can participate if accompanied by a playing parent/guardian. Parent/guardian consent must be provided for all minors.

I’VE ALREADY BOOKED MY ROOM. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADD MORE PLAYERS LATER?

Yes. Players can be added to a reservation upon arrival, up to a maximum of 8 players per room. Please make sure your entire group has arrived prior to the scheduled booking time to ensure a smooth start.

WHAT TIME SHOULD MY GROUP ARRIVE? WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M RUNNING LATE?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your booking. Due to time constraints of the game, we must adhere to a strict schedule. If you arrive late, we may not be able to honor your booking, or your group may not receive the full 60 minutes in the room.

CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?

No refunds will be issued, but bookings can be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. To reschedule, call 412-368-2250 or email us at [email protected].

ARE THERE ANY TIPS FOR BEGINNERS?

Work together! Communication is key, so you should discuss clues and puzzles with your team. If you’re stuck, don’t hesitate to ask your game master for hints. We’re here to help you! Most importantly, have fun!!
